The Saga Of A Kitten Rescue Part II: Preparation For A Rescue

A plan came together, and we named the rescued kitten Abigail. She was finally caught, while I prepared a room for her. Not long after getting a clean bill of health, that sweet baby delivered five healthy kittens in the safety and security of a vet’s office. At the time she delivered, a storm flooded downtown Nashville. Instead of death, there was life!

Our spiritual analogy concerns our eternal rescue. The effort and preparations made for Abigail don’t hold a candle to the preparations made for our spiritual rescue.

"But when the fullness of time had come,

God sent forth his Son, born of woman,

born under the law…”

Galatians 4:4

Jesus came to die on our behalf and suffer the wrath of God in our place. He rose again, conquering death for those who put their trust in Him. Instead of the death we deserved, we gain life in Him!

“In my Father’s house are many rooms.

If it were not so,

would I have told you that I go

to prepare a place for you?”

John 14:2

We prepared to bring Abigail home. So much more has our King made preparation for the coming home of all who are in Christ!

“But to all who did receive him,

who believed in his name,

he gave the right to become

children of God…”

John 1:12

Do not reject your rescue! Abigail landed safely and securely; cared for; nourished; and loved. She had nothing to do with her own rescue. And we have nothing to do with ours. All glory and praise goes to the One who planned and carried out the rescue of our souls through the cross; the One who opens our eyes to see the only true way of salvation.
