Happy 13th Anniversary Abide in Him!

Some of you may remember our 6th anniversary when the Lord stopped me in my tracks, and confirmed a “resting of the land” during the 7th year. Ancient Israel was commanded to rest the land agriculturally every 7th year. God provided enough the 6th year to abundantly supply for the 7th and even 8th as they began working the land again. It was clear direction for me, and in the rearview mirror I see that God also knew my life story was about to take a sharp turn. His watchfulness is so precious.

When I realized this 13th anniversary was ushering in another 7th (sabbatical) year, I could hardly believe it! I began to pray. Do we rest again? It may have slipped up on me, but it did not slip up on God. While I love rhythms in life, I don’t want to get legalistic. I felt to pay attention to this as a year of rest, but I realized every project planned was simply using fruit already produced.

One project on the back burner is a gathering of old blogs that are spiritual analogies to use in a devotional we can make available. I love how God uses every day things to help us better understand spiritual things we can’t see. So if you’ve been on the blog for years and déjà vu hits, you have likely read it before!

Please join me in praying Psalm 65:11-13 over Abide in Him and all of our daily ministries to the Lord as His presence makes all the difference,

“You crown the year with Your goodness,

And Your paths drip with abundance.

They drop on the pastures of the wilderness,

And the little hills rejoice on every side.

The pastures are clothed with flocks;

The valleys also are covered with grain;

They shout for joy, they also sing.”
