A Study of Exodus Part I: A God Who Rescues
We serve a God who rescues! The book of Exodus reveals God’s desire to use hard situations for our good and His glory. He used this book to help me and lead me during a traumatic experience. While this study is not about my experience, it’s written so that we can better understand who God is and plug in our own situations for hope, guidance, and a closer walk with Him. We will see why things don’t always unfold like we might hope. The one true God rescues in a way that is best for us and all for His glory. We will better understand why He might prolong hard times. We will find rest in His sovereignty and see that everything is His servant.
The entirety of the Bible speaks of the greatest rescue mission ever, salvation in Jesus Christ. Our trek through Exodus will tell of the deliverance of the Hebrews from Egypt. As we journey to the final plague, God will be speaking of the lamb to be used so that the families of Israel will be passed over and delivered from death. He knew then that the lamb represents His own Son who is the ultimate Lamb slain before the foundation of the world; whose blood alone saves us from the penalty of sin and God’s wrath to come.
This seven-week study provides five lessons per week along with room to journal and weekly memory verses. Each lesson will provide an opportunity to collect information to better understand who God is, and allow us to process how He might be using our trials. Time in His Word is always time well spent.
