The Mystery Of His Majesty
Driving to the beach, a friend shared a thought before we got off the phone. She mentioned how we’re drawn to the ocean, because it’s powerful, and inviting, and dangerous. It’s calming and created by Him. It reveals His attributes.
I thought of those words when I woke to a glorious storm over the water. Watching the splendor of lightning, and hearing the awe of thunder over that powerful body of water just added to the wonder. The mystery of His majesty draws me in to know Him more fully. As breathtaking as it is, 1 Corinthians 13:12 says we see as in a mirror dimly. Can you imagine face to face? He is preparing us for His full on glory. I can hardly imagine what eternity will be like.
Life is stormy, and it is full of His majesty. He is our strength when the waves are tumultuous. Psalm 77 speaks of our Creator who can part His own sea. Enjoy worshipping Him as you read Verses 13-20,
"Your way, O God, is holy.
What god is great like our God?
You are the God who works wonders;
you have made known your might among the peoples.
You with your arm redeemed your people,
the children of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
When the waters saw you, O God,
when the waters saw you, they were afraid;
indeed, the deep trembled.
The clouds poured out water;
the skies gave forth thunder;
your arrows flashed on every side.
The crash of your thunder was in the whirlwind;
your lightnings lighted up the world;
the earth trembled and shook.
Your way was through the sea,
your path through the great waters;
yet your footprints were unseen.
You led your people like a flock
by the hand of Moses and Aaron.”
