Psalm 1: Part II Blessings Of Life
Scripture reveals that the only way that is good is God’s way. All other ways lead to trouble and death, but His Word teaches us life and godliness! Psalm 1:3 gives a visual of the blessed life. This is the life of one who delights in and meditates on God’s wisdom as written in His Word,
"He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.”
It doesn’t mean we won’t have troubles or failures. But abiding by His counsel, standing with fellow believers, and sitting among those who know and love Him, we are like well watered trees, spiritually speaking. We are alive and strong and flourishing in His service, because of the Living Water (Christ) flowing all around and through us. We yield fruit that glorifies the One whose law and ways we love. Our life in Him offers blessing to those around us.
We don’t live as those who wither in the heat of hard times or the headiness of success. Being rooted in Christ, we continue to abound in the eternal life He offers even in times of grief. We will prosper in obedience to our King for the glory of the One who saved us.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10
Trees don’t wander from their water source, and we ought not either. Rest in Him, flourish in Him, abide in Him, remain in Him. Find the joy and strength your soul needs.
"Whoever believes in me,
as the Scripture has said,
‘Out of his heart
will flow rivers of living water.’”
John 7:38
