Journeying in Genesis: The Cattle on a Thousand Hills

At Kingdom Builders last week, we used Psalm 50 to proclaim that God is the ultimate source. We worshiped as we sang “Worthy of It All” by CeCe Winans. The lyrics proclaim,

“You are worthy of it all

For from You are all things

And to You are all things

You deserve the glory.”

Psalm 50:10-12 says,

“For every beast of the forest is mine,

the cattle on a thousand hills.

I know all the birds of the hills,

and all that moves in the field is mine.”

What timing as we dive into day six of creation! Genesis 1:24-25 says,

“And God said,

‘Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—

livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.’

And it was so.

And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds

and the livestock according to their kinds,

and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind.

And God saw that it was good.”

I love that He knows when a cow walks across a pasture, when a field mouse scurries through, and when a flee hops from one place to another. He is not missing a thing that happens on this earth. Let’s meditate on Romans 11:36 as we worship and bow down before this wondrous One who doesn’t need us, but loves us and wants us to participate in His plan through salvation in Jesus Christ,

“For from him

and through him

and to him

are all things.

To him be glory forever.

Amen.”
