Journeying in Genesis: Beyond Imagination

Our God is magnificent. This journey through the first three chapters of Genesis has grown my appreciation for the fact that this is our Father’s world. It is His and He is in charge. He set creation in perfect order through His incomparable brilliance. Only His wisdom and might can restore the order broken by sin. And that’s exactly the rescue we are living in now. I find this comforting and sobering. I find myself wanting to know Him more and have my eyes more fully focused on Him.

We witnessed a glorious display as we watched the Creation narrative unfold. What we see today does not compare to the new heaven and the new earth as the plan of redemption rolls on. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says,

“But, as it is written,

‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,

nor the heart of man imagined,

what God has prepared for those who love him…”

1 Corinthians 2:9

We do not want to miss out on that! No matter what this world offers, it does not compare to what our Creator has in store. We love Him, because He first loved us and purchased our salvation through the cross. May we humble ourselves to believe and receive the Gospel. He has promised in 2 Corinthians 5:17,

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

Made new in Christ, we will be rejoicing eternally with all of Creation:

“For you shall go out in joy

and be led forth in peace;

the mountains and the hills before you

shall break forth into singing,

and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”

Isaiah 55:12

Hail the King! Come quickly Lord Jesus.
