That Day!

In response to wedding plans for my daughter years ago I said, “I am so excited and cannot wait for that day!” I realized how appropriate that response would be to the Lord as He prepares for the wedding supper of the Lamb.

We may not know the day nor hour, but His Word keeps us up to date on His gracious plan and our ultimate arrival. Every time we see it written and His Spirit speaks, we should be responding with some form of, “I am so excited and cannot wait for that day!” 

“Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude,

like the roar of many waters

and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,

‘Hallelujah!

For the Lord our God

the Almighty reigns.

Let us rejoice and exult

and give him the glory,

for the marriage of the Lamb has come,

and his Bride has made herself ready;

it was granted her to clothe herself

with fine linen, bright and pure’—

for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

And the angel said to me,

‘Write this:

Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’

And he said to me,

‘These are the true words of God.’”

Revelation 19:6-9

Lord, we are so excited and cannot wait for that day!

“But, as it is written,

‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,

nor the heart of man imagined,

what God has prepared for those who love him’—“

1 Corinthians 2:9

Lord, we are so excited and cannot wait for that day! Keep us thrilled at the thought of what You are preparing, and what You have planned for those redeemed by the blood of Christ.
